Emma Cashman is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in supporting children, young people, and families across a variety of settings and clinical services. She has over 10 years of clinical experience working in public and private sectors, providing comprehensive assessments and intervention to children, adolescents and families experiencing mental health difficulties, trauma and relationship challenges, including those affected by parental separation and high familial conflict. Her passion for helping families navigate these complexities has led her to join The Relationspace, where she broadens her capacity to assist children and families within the context of Family Law.

Emma’s trauma-informed practice is grounded in fostering a shared understanding of her clients’ current challenges within the context of their life experiences. She tailors her therapeutic approach to the unique needs of each individual, drawing from a range of modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Emma’s therapeutic approach is guided by evidence-based practice and her core values of compassion, creativity, and curiosity.

Emma has a special interest in trauma and PTSD, and the integration of innovativeevidence-based mind and body interventions from various disciplines. In addition to her consulting role with The Relationspace, Emma maintains her private practice which she established in 2020. Within her practice, she provides assessment and evidence-based psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, and families struggling with a wide range of life challenges, trauma, and mental health difficulties. Emma holds a Master of Clinical Psychology (Hons) and a Bachelor of Science - Psychology (Hons). She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA), the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), Pacifica Congress and the Trauma and Recovery Network Australia (TRNA). Emma is also an approved AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia clinical supervisor and provides supervision to psychologists and other mental health professionals.
