Heather brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and deep cultural understanding to her work as a family report writer. Born and raised in Singapore, she is Singaporean-Chinese and bilingual in English and Mandarin, though she currently conducts her practice in English. Growing up in the melting pot culture of Singapore, her knowledge of cultural background and clinical speciality in Asian mental health allow her to engage meaningfully with families from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from Southeast and East Asian cultures.

Heather’s clinical and academic training in Australia has equipped her to approach family dynamics with a nuanced, culturally informed perspective. Her PhD research explores moral motivation in young children, with a part of her thesis investigating how parental socialisation shapes children’s moral emotions from studies all over the world. This expertise gives her a well-rounded approach to understanding the complexities of family life, parenting styles, and cultural influences, making her a valuable resource for families and individuals, especially those with Asian backgrounds, navigating cross-cultural dynamics.
